in 2014, defeating incumbent Mary Sawatsky, and has been reelected every two years since. During the 2015-16 legislative session Baker served as an assistant majority leader. Since 2021 he has served as an assistant minority leader. He is the minority lead on the Workforce Development Finance and Policy Committee and sits on the Human Services Finance and Human Services Policy Committees.
